Small Group Descriptions

H.I.S.
The Hallelujah I’m Saved (H.I.S.) life group has six empty-nester or almost empty-nester couples who meet on Sunday evenings at 6:00 in Temple’s gym/youth area where they dive into the Word using a variety of lesson materials.

Four H.I.S. couples attend the early traditional service while two H.I.S. couples attend the later contemporary service on Sunday mornings. H.I.S. members are active at Temple in the food pantry, clothes closet, VBS, security team, and lawn care as well as other volunteer opportunities.

Thomas and Kim Priest lead this life group.  Thomas works for Engines, Inc. as a technical communicator and John Deere engines trainer.  Kim retired last year after teaching over thirty-six years for the Nettleton School District.
McNabb
Mike and I have been married 36 years.  We have 3 daughters who are married and between them we have 7 beautiful grandchildren, with our 8th due in December.  Temple Baptist Church has always been our home.  Mike has been in real estate sales for 50 years.  I joined him in 2014.

The age group of the current members of our group are 27 to 38, male and female.  There are children ranging in age from 1 to 10.

We started this group, through much prayer, to encourage and strengthen each other in everyday life, to grow together in Scripture and to lift each other up in prayer.
Family Circus
We are a family centered group.  Our group ranges from ages 40-60 years old.  We have some with children as young as 7 through adulthood.  We have some with children at home while others are empty nesters.  We meet on Wednesday night at church at 630 and we often eat supper together before church at 530.
Bereans
We study the Bible searching for the truths that guide our lives. We have lots of discussion. We are 16 women with ages ranging from 67 to 80. We are open to all age groups of adult women who have a desire to seriously study the Bible. We do homework and take tests! We meet at 1:30pm on Mondays and go until 3pm. We are currently discussing the Holy Spirit.
Sanford
We run in age from 50 and up.   Currently we are studying the book of Job.  We try to make it interesting and timely(to the culture as it is happening).  We are a group of caring, praying and concerned children of God.

Class structure:  We have lessons each week with quizzes which keep us all involved and interactive with each other.  We start each week with a review of the previous week, then open the study for that evening.  As you can guess, with our age range, we do spend a considerable amount of time praying for the needs of the class and those around us and beyond.

Judy and I have been teachers/leaders throughout our travel years from Missouri, New York, Texas, Massachusetts and now Arkansas.  Judy was a teacher in grade school(aide) and preschool.  I was a secondary teacher.  No one is too young to learn or too old to teach. I learned that principal from our first assignment, shortly after we were married, when we were asked to teach the pre-school children.  Apropos to this discussion is that Judy and I love God's word and believe we should be constantly immersing ourselves in discovering new things there. I Cor. 15:58.
Bible Recap

We meet at 9am on Sunday mornings. We are a group of single and married couples. The ages of our group members range from 40 years old to 60 years old. The ages of our children are from 14 years old to 27 years old.
