The Weekly Impact 9/16/21

This weekend we are kicking off a new series on the prayer life of Jonah and the other characters listed in his writings. The beginning of a new series is a great time to invite someone new to church.  This weekend is also "National Back To Church Sunday" which is a good time for us to get back to our regular attendance at church and to invite people to come with us! So it should be a win-win for inviting those people you have been wanting to bring to church!

This past Sunday we kicked off 40 days to Unceasing Prayer. (Today (Thursday) you should have finished day four.)  We hope this daily interaction with God's Word and Prayer will draw you closer to Him and help you hear more clearly from your Heavenly Father. One thing that will help during this 40 days is to be involved in a small group. If you are not already in a group please give one of the pastors a call to find out where you can get connected, or talk with Andy or Jonathan this Sunday.

This year several churches in Jonesboro are teaming up to make an impact across the globe by investing in the international students right here at Arkansas State University. Temple has decided to be a part of this missionary program. The goal for this program is to connect every international exchange student with a host family who knows Jesus. In order to be a host family you would be paired with one student and spend face to face time with them once/month at a minimum, and contact them each week. There is a kick-off dinner at the BCM at ASU on September 17th at 7pm. They will offer a training for anyone who would like it at 6pm before the dinner. This training will just give you some insight into international customs and social relationships.
